It’s those patrons you wouldn’t expect to be weird who ask the really odd questions.

For instance, male patron, in a hushed voice and raised, waggling eyebrows, “Do you have any books on strippers?”
Me: *blink*
Him: “They can be about male or female ones.”
Me: (straightfaced, ) “Let me check… No, I’m sorry we don’t. May I suggest the Internet when you get home?”

later that same evening…
Him: “Do you have any books on magic? You know, like mind-reading?”
Me: “None on mind-reading I’m afraid, but lots on magic tricks if you just step this way…”

a few minutes later…
Him: “Where are your books on goats?”
